INTRO TO MUSICAL THEATRE:
Just as it sounds: the ideal opportunity to "give it a try." This eight week course will introduce you to singing in a non-threatening, highly supportive and fun atmosphere. Students will learn the basic vocal elements: breath control, development of through-line and begin to work on group harmonics. Outside practice cannot be overemphasized. No Prerequisite. No audition.

MUSICAL THEATRE LAB: The first step towards professional presentation. An in-depth study of the imagery and emotion needed to project the intent of music and lyrics. Continuing gradient increase of vocal techniques and group harmonics. Students will be working with two instructors.

A study of the art of musical theatre is explored through two levels of classes. In each level, our instructors help the performing artist realize and utilize their individual and unique vocal production, through-line, phrasing and movement while investigating the qualities needed in creating a role. Each student learns the discipline necessary to accomplish their objectives-whatever they may be-whether they are working to enter the community, collegiate or professional theatre world. In each level, students will work on solo pieces and collaborate with fellow classmates on duets, trios or ensemble musical numbers.
